Tender Pulled Pork or Chicken, Cooked in a Slow Cooker, Frozen in Portions, and Served with Your Favorite Buns.

Slow-cooked pulled pork or chicken is a crowd-pleasing dish that’s tender, flavorful, and perfect for meal prepping. The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and versatility.

Whether you prefer the richness of pork or the leaner option of chicken, both meats become incredibly tender and infused with flavor when cooked low and slow in a slow cooker.

The slow cooker works wonders when it comes to making pulled pork or chicken. The meat is cooked over several hours, allowing it to become incredibly tender, pulling apart easily with a fork.

For pulled pork, use pork shoulder or pork butt, which has enough fat to keep the meat juicy and flavorful. For chicken, boneless, skinless thighs or breasts work perfectly.

Once the pulled meat is cooked and tender, it can be easily shredded with two forks. The next step is to freeze it in portions, making it easy to grab and reheat when you need a quick meal.

After the meat is shredded, divide it into individual or family-sized portions and store it in freezer-safe containers or bags. It can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.

When you’re ready to serve, simply reheat the pulled pork or chicken in the microwave, on the stovetop, or in the oven, adding a little extra sauce or broth to keep it moist.

To serve, warm up your favorite buns—whether soft brioche buns, classic hamburger buns, or whole wheat options—and pile the tender pulled meat on top. For added flavor and texture, you can add toppings like coleslaw, pickles, onions, or a drizzle of extra BBQ sauce.
