Air Fryer Apple Fritters: Sweet and Warm with a Cinnamon Sugar Coating.
Apple fritters are a delightful treat with tender, sweet apple pieces encased in a golden, cinnamon-spiced dough. Made in the air fryer, this lighter version delivers all the flavor and warmth you love without the excess oil, making it a perfect indulgence for breakfast, dessert, or a cozy snack.
Peel and dice 2–3 medium apples, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, into small pieces. Toss the apples with a bit of lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg to enhance their natural sweetness.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, whisk 1 egg with ⅓ cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients until you have a thick, spoonable batter. Fold in the seasoned apple pieces until evenly distributed.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Scoop heaping spoonfuls of the batter into the basket, shaping them into rough mounds. Leave space between each fritter to allow air to circulate.
Cook the fritters for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
While the fritters are warm, brush them lightly with melted butter and toss them in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar for a sweet, aromatic finish.
Serve the apple fritters warm, paired with a drizzle of caramel sauce or a dusting of powdered sugar. They’re a comforting treat sure to delight everyone!
