A savory stir-fry with beef strips and broccoli, cooked in a flavorful sauce.

A savory stir-fry with beef strips and broccoli, cooked in a flavorful sauce, is a quick and delicious meal that combines tender beef with crisp broccoli, all coated in a savory, tangy sauce.

This dish is packed with protein, vitamins, and satisfying flavors, making it the perfect choice for a weeknight dinner or a healthy meal any day of the week.

To begin, slice lean beef (such as flank steak or sirloin) into thin strips against the grain. The thinner the strips, the more tender they will be.

Marinate the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and a touch of honey or brown sugar for added sweetness. Let the beef marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors, or longer if you have time.

While the beef marinates, prepare the broccoli by cutting it into florets and rinsing it well. For added texture, you can also use sliced carrots or bell peppers. These vegetables will add crunch and natural sweetness to the stir-fry.

Heat a tablespoon of vegetable or sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef strips to the pan in a single layer, cooking them for about 2–3 minutes on each side until they are browned and just cooked through.

In the same pan, add the broccoli (and any other vegetables you are using) and stir-fry for about 4–5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. If necessary, add a splash of water or broth to help steam the veggies slightly.

Once the vegetables are cooked, return the beef to the pan. For the sauce, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, a little cornstarch mixed with water to thicken, and a squeeze of lime or rice vinegar for acidity.

Serve the stir-fry over a bed of steamed rice or noodles. This savory beef and broccoli stir-fry is a complete meal that's not only packed with flavor but also quick to prepare.
