A Healthier Twist on Classic Fish Sticks: Crunchy Outside, Tender Inside.

Fish sticks are a beloved comfort food, and this healthier version delivers all the crunch and tenderness you love without the excess oil and calories. Perfect for kids and adults alike, these fish sticks are baked or air-fried to golden perfection and pair wonderfully with your favorite dips.

Select a mild, flaky white fish like cod, tilapia, haddock, or pollock. Cut the fillets into uniform strips about 1 inch wide for even cooking. Pat them dry with a paper towel to help the coating stick.

Prepare three shallow bowls for coating: 1. Flour Mixture: Combine all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt, pepper, and paprika. 2. Egg Wash: Whisk 2 eggs with a splash of milk or water.

Breadcrumbs: Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch. Mix in grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried parsley for added flavor.

Dip each fish strip into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. For extra crunch, repeat the egg wash and breadcrumb steps for a double coating.

Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the fish sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray and bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.

Air Frying: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the fish sticks in a single layer and cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.

Serve the fish sticks hot with tartar sauce, ketchup, or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. These healthier fish sticks are crunchy, tender, and packed with flavor—a perfect mealtime upgrade!
