1936 Lincoln Cent : A Collector’s Guide.

The 1936 Lincoln Cent is a significant coin for collectors due to its historical context and multiple mint varieties.

Designed by Victor D. Brenner, the Lincoln Cent was first issued in 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.

The 1936 issue was struck in large numbers as the U.S. economy was recovering from the Great Depression.

Obverse: Portrait of Abraham Lincoln, with “IN GOD WE TRUST” above, “LIBERTY” to the left, and the date on the right.

Reverse: Features the traditional Wheat Ears design with “ONE CENT” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” in the center, along with “E PLURIBUS UNUM” above.

Look for Red (RD) examples, as they are more valuable than Brown (BN) or Red-Brown (RB).

Verify authenticity and grade with PCGS or NGC before purchasing high-value specimens.

The 1936 Lincoln Cent is a fascinating and affordable coin for both beginner and experienced collectors, with exciting varieties and historical importance.
